Santa and Christmas

Why I told my children that Santa isn’t real.

It is this time of the year, we are all busy getting things for our Christmas tree, decorations for the house and presents. And we hear many adults asking children if they are looking forward to Santa or Father Christmas and children should behave well because apparently Santa knows if a child doesn’t behave well.

One thing I want to say before I continue is that my children know that Santa is not real. I just refuse to teach my daughters about a lie. When my children asked me who gets their presents I told them mummy, daddy and whoever wants to give you one. And my children are fine with that. Why should I teach my children about something which is not real? And when you finally decide to tell your children the truth they may be devastated because you are taking something “so special” away from them.

One Sunday morning while my pastor was preaching, he showed us a slide and the word Satan caught my attention. God told me to look at that word closely. When God revealed it to me I was speechless.
Did you know that Satan’s name is in Santa? No? I didn’t know either. But look at the word closely for yourself. Can you see it? OK, let me help you. Take the letter “n” from Satan and put it right in the middle of it’s name , between the letters “a” and “t”. Now what can you see?
When I saw that, so many things and what people say to children went through my mind. People say to children if they don’t listen Santa won’t come. Let’s just stay here for a second. Does it mean that we’ve been inviting Satan in our homes every year without even noticing it? And on top of that we’ve been teaching our children to do the same and keep it up by teaching their children? That’s deep.

You may say I shouldn’t look too much into it. Here’s a question for you. Who is Santa? An old man flying in the dark with his helpers to bring presents to all the children he apparently knows by name and whether they have been good or not. My question to you is: “Why are our children targeted?” Is it because they are easier to manipulate? Especially because their parents allow it? Let’s look at the helpers. In many movies they look creepy. To me they look like little demons which Satan would sent out to attack people.

Now the point about knowing us by our names. The only one who knows each and everyone by our names is God, the I AM THAT I AM (Exodus 3:14). Everyone else who pretends to know each and everyone of us is a liar. God is the only one who knew us even before we were born. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Parents, I urge you to protect your children from the unseen. Next time you encourage your child to leave biscuits and milk out for a man called Santa, think if you really would like someone to come down your chimney. If it was my house I’d call the police immediately. I really do not want any presents from Satan aka Santa, because they are never filled with love but lies. Would you encourage your child to sit on a mans lap, who you don’t know, in any other season? Or encourage the to write a letter? If you ask me I would never do that.

Parents I pray that you stay close to GOD and ask Him to guide and protect you and your children Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. Satan doesn’t care about who he is getting and he will do anything and dress up as the sweetest thing to get you. 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Let me know what you think.

Love, Christina xxx
